Can anyone help me as to how to get one of these apart. I pulled the 3 screws off, took the plastic cap off and can't seem to get the thing apart. I didn't want to pull up on the circuit board for fear of ruining it. Any tips. I just got a sintered and want to do the switch.

If it is like the Novak 13.5, you pull off the top end bell take the bonded rotor out and put the sintered in. It sounds like you are trying to take off the back of the motor.

As posted you have the wrong end off. You dont need to even loosen that end, just the shaft end 3 long screws, pull the end bell, then the rotor comes straight out. Also, its a good idea to use a fine tip felt pen to mark endbell to can to align it back correctly putting back together. Do not evertighten the screws putting back together, I've seen one that was stripped out, just 3 fingers to tighten will hold it.

How do the LRP's stand up to the Novaks? Novaks are the only ones allowed around here. So with the news with ROAR allowing brushless motors now in stock and 19turn, I want to the the LRP Sphere Comp 07 or the TC edition and would like to keep the blueness in motors lol

All the new motors should now all be sintered. With the new 14mm sintered rotor these motors are ballistic. Very fast and very torquey. Definitely faster than the Novak regardless of the rotor on the Novak. This is the 13.5. Not sure about the other winds.

I'd be wary of buying an LRp 13.5 right now as apparently the ROAR rules are going to be a max rotor of 12.51mm and min of 12.39mm. With the LRP being 14mm it won't be roar legal.

Guess we will see what happens there.

Wonder when LRP will make a 17.5 then.

I bought an LRP 13.5 from Tower two weeks ago and it came with a sintered rotor.

As long as your track or club allows it I wouldn't worry about ROAR rules. ROAR rules are set for National level races not necessarily need to be followed by your track or club.

Exactly! I got myself pretty worked up over it till I taked to our track owner. He said far too many people are already running 13.5, and there is a series within several tracks that is running also that will all continue reguardless of what ROAR decides. Many tracks, I have a feeling, will not follow suit with ROAR. We run 13.5 and stock together (when one of the few stocks shows) and they are not alot different as far as top speeds, torque out of the corners the 13.5 has the advantage.

February.

LRP's all-new X-11 "stock" spec motors will be avaialble in 10.5, 13.5, 17.5, and 21.5 configurations that meet ROAR "stock" BL motor specifications. This means a 12.3mm sintered armature, anodized external color coded (for each wind) parts, and an armature that is easily identifiable by tech crews.

There will also be 8.5 and 9.5 versions of the motors for use by clubs in limited modified class racing and are perfect for low grip off-road modified applications.

X-11 Stock Spec motors are scheduled for February delivery.

Additionally, 12.5 and 13.0 mm sintered rotors for X11 MOdified motors will be available at the same time.

Really?? All that done by next month?? Sounds like you guys have been involved with an "inside scoop" on the new rules while there in the process of being made. thats good to see. I'll stick with my 14mm rotor for club racing though thank you.

But if they did, how great would R/C racing be!
