Default TX Race tuning

Theres a lot on the forum about car setup but I havent found a thread that speaks to transmitter tuning and what is possible with modern transmitters a.k.a 3pks, M11, KO Helios etc etc

There are so many options available on these new transmitters, does anyone have a setup sheet for these and what are common adjustments that people make aside from the usual.

This is one of the threads that goes into a bit pf detail on transmitter setup - http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=165988

Basic rule of transmitter settings - less is more - use the transmitter to get the car working "right", don't use it to compensate for a car that is working "wrong". If the car is wrong, change the car, not the transmitter. And your hands are much more adaptable than any transmitter setting.

EPA and D/R is clear no problem there but the newer transmitters now have an "ABS" feature and other more trick settings

At full dual rate, set your steering end points so that you just touch something. That is, as much as you can get without binding something in the steering.

Use your dual rate to adjust how much steering you want.

Put in 10% exponential.

Go race.

Yes, in case anyone is wondering, I can do all that with my $110 Hitek transmitter. It's smaller in transport and much lighter, too.

Don't use ABS, it could cook your ESC it is aimed at nitro cars. Even in nitro cars it can cook servos.

Really the only settings that are REALLY useful in electric are the various settings to get the steering working right. Some of the travel/curve limiters on the throttle side can be helpful (but if you need to limit throttle travel you should really be using less motor). The rest are gimmicks that will leave you more confused than when you started.
