Default Schumacher lower arm slop

Hello,

Not sure if I'm posting in the correct section but i have tried searching with no luck!

Just wondering if there is meant to be 1mm slop on the front arms? The manual states that there should an o-ring (u1960), arm and washer (u2450) though the pivot pin. Should i find another washer to take up the slop?

I have a feeling is the arm moves it is going to put the car out of alignment.

Thanks!

yeah i figured....

so I'll have to find some other shims to take up the slop or does part number u2450 come with 2 different sizes of plastic shims/washers?

Thanks for your help!

If you're in a crunch and need to reduce some slop you can always use a dab of super glue, let it dry and then reassemble.

Hope this helps

thought about that but i prefer to do it right the first time.

I have attached an image from the manual showing where and which direction the slop is coming from.

there is a gap allowing the arm to slide forwards and backwards by about 1mm marked in red dots

i have followed the manual accordingly. using the red rubber o rings and 2mmx1/8" spacer

I took out the rubber o-rings on my Mission and just used some teflon shims to make up the difference. Workes well. I run mine on a dirt oval track.
