well...for our OVAL VELODROME racing we only use 4 cells. With the voltage of the 4 cell pack, so far the MAMBA 7700 has run QUICKER than the 3.5 for individual lap time, but the 3.5 made time and has the record for the fastest run.
Both are easily running over 60 MPH with 4 cell in a pan car.
I don't know what the MAX voltage is, but the 3.5 turns close to 10,500 RPM's PER VOLT with NO load...so a 7.4 volt LIPO would spin close to 80,000 RPM's

thanks... don't these motors have rpm limits? i thought that the mm7700 is limited to 60,000 rpm hence it is limited only to 7.4 lipos?

The 3.5 will rev unloaded at 63000 rpm at 7.2v and you cannot go higher than 7.4v on the novak. The mamba max you can run up to 11.1v and a minimum of 7.2v, If you plan on running a 5700 mamba it will be faster on 11.1v and at 7.2v would run aggressive but if you only plan on running 7.4v go novak 3.5R, I had the 3.5 in my TC4 and for 7.2v it ran very quick and when I put the 3.5 in my 2wd prostock it was a sight to see , it was fast!!! If you plan on going 11.1v go mamba If you plan on going lipo check out max amps web site. Good Luck...

Charlie from Novak says you can go 7 cells for the 3.5, but it isnt recommended for long runs. For 11.1 on the Mamba, the 5700 will make your car a steady climbing rocket. It can be done with the 7700, but you better have a fan on the ESC and the motor, but dont look forward to extended run times or you will thermal.
