CORE packs are exellent for 13.5 and 10.5...high quality packs and great support from Schumacher USA.

With 6.5 Mod, it will also be very good, however, with an S400, someone running an SMC4000 pack will be a bit faster...the SMC gives more punch in MOD than anyother pack in the market now. The only other pack that can hang with the SMC packs is Trackpower4900 25C packs, or CORE5000 packs. However, the Trackpower 4900 or CORE500 packs will not fit under the bulkheads, so you have to just site them on the chassis agains the bulkhead and they'll stick out fo the chassis about 7mm...you get nearly perfect balance though, and all you gotta do is add the weight.

Had a pretty big "Reedy Race" warmup class at the local track yesterday, lots of factory drivers showed up to run, Josh Numan, Ryan Cavalieri, Dave Jun, Steve Weiss, a pretty stacked field for a club race.

This was the first time on the Sorex premounts for a lot of us, but my car was pretty good from the first run on. For anyone going to the reedy race that hasn't run the tires yet, just expect your car to push on the 2'nd run on these tires, it's a pretty big difference between the 1'st and 2'nd run.

Anyway I changed a few small things on my setup and the car really came in. Managed to TQ and win the race after a bumper to bumper battle with Steve Weiss for the first 4 or so mins of the race, it was a lot of fun!

I was just very happy with how quickly I was able to adapt the car to the new tires.

My changes from my posted setup are:
-Moved the front arms all the way forward
-Moved the ackerman to the outside holes on the bellcrank
-Moved the front swaybar mounts to the inside hole on the arm
-Mounted the body 4mm more forward

Default Setup Changes

Hey Randy,

That's great to hear that the car worked well for you and that you got a nice setup to run and work with. I'm sure you'll do great at the Reedy Race.

Could you explain what was the car doing that made you want to change it from the original setup that you had? What did each change do to the car?

Thanks,
Steve

Basically the sorex tires just dont steer as aggressively as the RP's, so the changes I made were all to get the steering a bit more aggressive on corner entry.

Moving the front arms forward will make the car more aggressive entering the corner. Moving the swaybar mounts to the inside just makes the swaybar feel softer.

As for radios, look around and you'll notice that most of the top drivers still use crystals. I haven't tried spectrum before, but honestly don't want to until I see the spectrum/dsm related issues go away.
