Just wanted to share.. here is a pic of my two Serpents... the second one is waiting for the foam conversion kit. Already ordered on Friday, the day it was announced. 1st car is rubber, TC Spec w/ 10.5 motor, wired for room to fit Much More motor freezer.
Also.. anyone know whos turnbuckle wrench fits the Serpents?? I like the steel buckles, gives me a bit more traction.
Everyone should have the shock tool also, makes working with the shocks, MUCH easier.
Very nice cars anyway, lucky to have two ones already
What type of servo do you use?

Just fitted my Peak Racing 3200 in the chassis without much modification. Also using the Nexus Racing Lipo lower weights to bring the CG down.. after weighing it in, our track weighs our cars, 53 oz. Perfect! With EP or IB4200s, nearly 60 ozs.. ouch!
I'm running with a Sanwa WRX servo now. I want to buy a 9551 or 2413 (no light low-profile Sanwa ) to get rid of the unbalance (5-cell, BL) and get closer to the weightlimit, but haven't decided yet... What do you think? Pros and cons?
Well...I gotta admit it...is the S400 a great car or what? I have tested ran it now for almost 14 packs...the car was great from the start when I first ran it about a month ago at our Coral Springs, FL track w/ my 3.5BL and Lipo combo...from there I have taken it to the nice MDI track in Royal Palm beach a couple of times, and the car is just the best I've ever had...I cant explain why...the car just works- it really performs...its fairly light, yet strong in the key drivetrain parts for better wear and duarbility. Its very easy to build and set up...
Today at our Coral Springs track, I tested w/ my LRP 3.5 motor and the car was so good...perfect, I'd say.
After 1 pack, I replaced the 3.5 motor for a 10.5 BL motor...the car was dialed, too! What car gives you such a wide sweetspot and versatility...this is really a very good car- it's amazing.
I ran it for a few more packs untill the tires ripped and were useless...what a day...what a car
Hey guys I just got back from the state arce wich I choked at!!!! Going in to it I was leading by one point and the guy in second finished first and I finished third. My car was really really good I will try to get my set up on here in the next day or two. What I did do was I went to 2 degree caster blocks and 1 degree of toe with .5mm of kick up and 1mm of antisquat!! Hope fully in two weeks I will do better at regionals!!!
Thanks
Bryan

i understand the kit runs pretty well as it currently is, but just want to know if does anyone know if an '08 version of the S400 is being brewed?
much like what happened to S720 which later had the '07 version

Anything is possible...but Serpent has taken the time to really put out a great working car from the start. It doesnt just "run pretty well"...its exellent. What they'll probably do is revise or update certain parts, if needed, much like the development of the HB Cyclone. Its exactly the same car, but in 06 the HARA edition came out with better quality parts, and then the MooreSpeed edition, with better parts, etc...In 2008, look for Serpent to work on some refinement to the servo saver area, which needs a little sanding down/dremmeling for it to smoothly clear the bulkheads(takes a minute). It'll be little changes/improvements like that...the kit is top notch and it doesnt need new versions like Xray T2- which every year is like a new car...
