the new improved 'rear upper bearing blocks' (#401006 & #401007) are tougher, it has thicker aluminium support. avoid using 'body posts adjustable rear alu' (#802362). these are the main cause usually for broken bearing blocks when involves in hard impact. the original bodypost mounts are plastic and flexible thus more forgiving when crash.

for a more durable front lower bumperplate, please use 'bumperplate upper 720 (#803155). it has 2 more mounts in the between upper n lower bumperplates. it holds the foam more firmly in place. or u can simply cut out the extra supports and mount it directly to the lower bumperplate. i'll post a picture later.

I have known of a team driver buying spare second hand cars to use just them for parts, its probably the best thing for anyone to do that races with an s400.

buying another used or new kit (some shops still have them in stock n now for bargain) for parts is a expensive inventory. some parts r just common wear n tear, those r the one that a bit harder to find.

below r pictures of the bumper mod (sort of mod as the upper bumperplate actually is from serpent 720, but actually it can fit directly into s400). avoid using the aluminium body post. mine r for show purpose only. i actually only use the plastic unit for both cars.

i don't think serpent still has any sponsor/partly sponsor/factory driver for s400. it's a shame as so many promises were given for this car n now it's vanishing. well, at least it'll be exotic . going into a race without factory driver support is a bit difficult for normal racers, we don't have a setup guide in the 1st place. try n error, n end up racing it as long as it can move.

good luck.

Why did serpent discontinue the s400,are they releasing a new model? It seems to be a very worthy car. It sucks to have something good and then taken away. Now to get parts will a hassle. If they do release a new model i hope all the existing parts will fit.

Either they dropped their supplier or their supplier dropped them, either way it was kind of a forced discontinue as they are not making parts anymore. They are developing a new car but my understanding is it won't be out for a while.

Does anybody here want/need a carpet (foam) conversion kit for the S400? I've had it for a while and I'm never going to use it. It's a thicker chassis, thicker top decks with stand offs, and aluminum stand off posts.

It's the top chassis in the photo. I don't have any pics of the top decks right now.
