My car works great on asphalt using foam tyres. Im running the rubber spec car. Normally 35 shore all round. Mazda 6 body.
Things to look out for:
Because I am using foam tyres on a rubber spec car, the rims touch under heavy load on the bottom ball joint of the shock. You can either just grind the rims a little bit, but what I did, was just move the bottom shock mounting position to the inside hole. The obviously changes the shock angle, so to compensate, I went 1 hole down on the top as well. Its not exactly the same as std, but close enough, just the whole shock is now more inboard.
I layed my shock down 1 more position on the rear, as well as 1 down on the front. Otherwise still on the std setup. The car is excellent out the box.
Shock positions - bascially go all the way down and then up 2, all round.
Loosen the belt tension 1 on the front and rear belts.
On my mod car, I do the same on the shocks. Leave the belt tension std.
Lengthen the front camber link, to the inside hole (closest to the middle of the car.
Both cars the rear diff is very tight.
Make sure you put some locktite on the grubscrews that hold the centre pulleys and spur gear, and I put a bit of pliobond on the servo saver nut, and tighten in another 1/2 to 1 turn more than the manual.
Hope this helps, otherwise pm me, and ill see if I can help.
maybe between us racers we can help each other out, i have tbh a few spare as most of the stuff i got recently went straight on the car but if anyone needs stuff post here and maybe someone will have it laying around in the pitbox somewhere, also pm shops you know have some serpent stock i know its better to support LHS but when in times of need etc
for example i needed a front lower bumper and although i havent got a S400 one i know one of the other serpent ones fit but needs trimming down so for now problem solved, theres always a way

I have a ton of spares for the S400 after my last Serpent experience back in the "old days" and I also need a few parts that I am missing for a rebuild - maybe we should all list out what we have extras of and what we need to replace and figure out a way to help each other out and get our cars back onto the track - and winning.
I will list my NIB/NIP spares tonight when I get home and see who can help me out with some parts I need.

I think the bumper you are talking about is #803166/#802209.
The correct one is #803163, but ask your local hobby shop if they have any stock of 802205. Its exactly the same as #803163, but was originally under the serpent 710 part number and is now under the 720 part number.
Hello, I’m new in the 1/10 electric rc cars. I have my s400 with a 13.5 BL LRP motor and a 30c 4200mah battery. Two questions,
- What is the gear ratio of the s400?
- What spur/ pinion combo is the more recommended for that motor.
Thanks in advance for the replies…

bro, u can start with 5.2 ratio...but it's also depend on your track size, layout and top speed length

just hope that serpent will never abandon us... have been using both GP n EP cars of serpent... S400 has been a great car but their lack of parts support n development really have made some of us change toward other brands...
