And what other changes do you make, it seems to diff out a lot more than a ball diff, feels like it needs to keep the rear end flatter to prevent the wheel unloading.

Thanks
Typically I run all the gears with 5000wt oil in them and this seems to be a good general starting point. Obviously you will need to adjust depending on track conditions, but the 5k and ALL gears works fine.

The removal of the 2nd set of gears does not help all that much if you are trying to help with rotating mass, so I have the full set. Also, when using only two gears, you have to go considerably thicker with the oil and I find the lower Wt oils with all gears more consistent.

I will be on this thread answering any questions you guys/gals may have regarding the S400. So ask away.

Butter, any news on when the new shipment of S400 with included gear diffs are arriving?

Any news on the release of the new top deck or a new 2008 S400 version?

Yohan- Serpent's main focus at this time is the set-up of the new facility in Asia. The only news we have is that the S120 should be arriving in the U.S. within the next 3 weeks. As of right now there is no news about the S400 w/Gear diff or any accessory parts.

However, I can almost guarantee that once operations are up and running there will be no shortage of spares and hop-ups for the full line of Serpent equipment.

Default Belt help 18t conversion. New to S400

I recently purchased a S400 and interested in the 18t conversion. I read you can use the 415 belt and a xray rear belt. I recenty sold my trf415msxx with upgraded 18t pulleys. I do have a few belts lying around. I was wondering if anyone knows the part number for the xray belt and the TRF415 belt.

I have also read back that the swing shafts from the TRF will work can someone confirm the lenght as I have both.

Clearing out one of my msxx , just want to know what parts should I keep. swing shafts, shocks, belts, springs. Any help would be appricated.

I have a 720 and just want to stick to one brand.

Thanks

I too am interested, if someone could summerize the conversion and parts needed I would really appriciate it. Part numbers would be awsome. I assume this is an overdrive conversion?

The parts for the 18t conversion are;

XRay XR305442 rear belt
Hot Bodies 66492 (or other) 18t pulleys * 2
Tamiya 6245013 415MSZ 169t front belt

and for zleader_99 the driveshafts are the Tamiya 51092 46mm shafts

I don't think they are overdriving the car, I think they are changing the internal gear ratio.
