Figured I'd check on here before I go to catch my flight, I use Associated green slime on the o-ring and have no problems with leakage with 5k oil, not sure if the 1k would make a difference but I would definately recommend trying the green slime out.

Thanks guys!

The hotel lobby has a couple computers so I'll be on a few times through the week. Checked out the track yesterday, it is all high speed sections going into kinks and hairpins, not technical at all, so whoever has the fastest motor and best batts is going to have a good shot. The only scary part on the track in my opinion is the sweeper, a 140' straight leading into a fairly narrow sweeper with 3" pvc track borders on the inside, and a wood fence on the outside is going to be the end for a lot of cars this week, that is going to be the turn to watch out for I'd say.

i don't think you have what it takes to tame that section routinely. that's just my take on the whole thing.

nah, seriously, good luck sir.

When mounting TRF shocks on the S400, what lower mount/ball end do you use? I just got a new set of these shocks and the included ones are pretty short so the shock is nearly 10mm shorter than the RCC shocks i had mounted, would you use the standard Serpent ball ends instead?

We've been waiting for almost 2 months now...I called Serpent USA last week and this week and they're expecting shipment to arrive sometime in the coming week or two, hopefully, if all goes well.

Hi all i have just brought a S400 here in the UK. Just after a bit of advice!

Rather than trawling through 70 odd pages could someone outline what you have done to the car, ie any changes you have made!

Also any setups which could come in handy!

[email protected]

Thanks

Paul

Practice has finished for the nats, both Billy and my cars are really fast and should be competitive tomorrow. I only have 2 packs through my 10.5 car but it should be up to speed for racing as well, I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow though.

I used AE lower spring cups and Schumacher Ball cups with 3mm cut off of them and Schumacher ball studs in the suspension arms. It makes the shocks just the right length to run TRF, Schumacher, XRay, HPI springs. They're all very similar lengths. On top I used some old Tamiya ball nuts I had from the days when we ran TRF shocks on the Mi2.

Just a quick update from the nats, qualifying is over and Billy and I both got our cars into the mains. Billy is qualified 3'rd with me in 5'th in modified, and I'm qualified 4'th in 10.5 as well. Both of our cars have been doing great the last couple days, I had a ton of bad luck in 10.5 which probably cost me a better starting spot, but that's racing.

Great job Randy and Billy. I think you guys are in great position to really make some noise in the Mains tomorrow. Keep up the great work and win this one....win it for....ah, um,...for BUTTER

How's the traction? How are the control tires holding up?
