Default Pit Equipment Questions...

Hey everyone, sorry if this should be asked elsewhere but I'm just curious as to a couple things regarding pit equipment...

1. Where can you find those little lamps (the vertical ones that "flip" up) ?

2. What kind of software do most people use on their laptops on their pit table? Is it just race data sent by the Race Control comptuers or is it actual setup/dyno/gear/battery software (like Pit Tools for example) ?

Just curious...thanks!

Don't know about the lap tops but the light is made by Ott. You can find them on Ebay and some office supply stores. Also, I just saw an add for Lowes in my area showing them in stock as well. Good Luck

The laptop thing, well in oval, is an excel program where we keep track of changes, such as tire size, weight on four corners, rollout, different setups/changes. Everything you wrote down on paper now on the computer.

I just bought one on ebay for $30 + shipping. There are cheaper lights out there, but I dont know of any that fold up and travel as well. I use two for my pit set-up. Less shadows that way.

office depot has them are the org. OTT light. but staple here in Canada has one theis just like the OTT but only around 40. I would check Staple first.

Program people are using on there lap top may just be a bunch of pdf files.

Like recent set up and gearcharts, ,manual. for easy access or programs for there ESC(ie ko and robotronic's Icube)...

how well balanced are them OTT lights? they look like if someone taps it it will topple over onto the floor and bye bye $40.

looks like would only be usable if your table was up against a wall.

They have some weight in the base, but yes if someone taps it doesn't take much to topple over. Just don't set it on the end of the table. It's more likely to fall into the table.

actully I find the OTT or the cheaper version( which I have) are very stable. I actully rest a TC body on it. My table get bump all the time since where I'm locat my pit table at my track. never had it fall over and/or off once.

I have mine on top of my Soldering Station ala Anthony L., but I used some velcro to secure it, still a little wobbly, I am thinking servo tape may be better

lamps - jo ann fabrics - just make sure you have one of their 40% off coupons in hand (most sunday newspapers) - that way you get an Ott light for the price of a copy
