I tried to find an answer to this, but still need to ask....

If I wanted to buy two Custom PTX, could I get a "new custom id" on the first, and have the second one then cloned to that?

Hi Aaron, the only way to get a cloned number is by having your AMB PT cloned and PTX transponders made for your order. The Custom ID PTX version is like a PT, it comes with an ID number but unlike a PT it can be changed if required. The way to have PTX transponders on the same number is by setting the same ID from the 10 or 20 generic ID numbers that come supplied with the PTX.

Hi Greg, good to hear that you like your PTX and it's all going great

One thing about the instructions is that the PTX dimensions are incorrect. The shrink PTX is about the same thickness as a PT and less than half the footprint area. The cased PTX is 2mm thicker than a PT and almost half the footprint area of a PT. The published dimensions for the cased PTX were incorrect, they were showing it too big it's actually a smaller size!

The comparative dimensions are:
AMBrc PT: 28 x 22 x 7 mm
Cased PTX: 22 x 16 x 9 mm
Shrink PTX: 21 x 13 x 8 mm

You set up the PT to one of the numbers listed on your setup sheet and give that number to the race director. Here is a link to the setup sheet from a previous post. It is pretty simple.

Hi FOXY923, it's like gregm says you set up your PTX to one of the ID#'s by using the setup button with the ID# that's selected being displayed by the number of 'flashes' on the LED. For Custom ID PTX transponders you get an ID# like you do with the AMB PT, there's also 20 'generic' numbers supplied as listed on the setup sheet, that's 21 numbers in total.

Terry, do you offer an all black lead option? Seems to be a popular trend to color all the wires black with a marker. Might be a good custom option if they are available.

I understand now. So I'd just have to make sure that the number I use isn't the same as someone else at the track? This seems pretty slim. I assume the gerneric numbers come from AMBrc PT's sent in to be cloned and not returned? Very slim chance of there being any of the 10 or 20 numbers at my track.

I may just have to get one

The latest custom ones have 21 numbers in them. The first 20 being all the same. The 21st number is from a random pool that Terry has bought up/acquired of HTP's/PT's.

So far we have determined two different versions of race software that will pick up TP number conflicts "if some one is using the same number". (similar to freq conflicts)

Questions??

I'd like to get my AMB cloned... Can anyone tell me roughly how much UPS shipping was to the UK? I'm looking for a ballpark.

Thanks

Hi or8ital, sorry no all black lead option. I'm not aware of any company that manufactures leads like that.
