Hi There,

Bit of a simple question but I've built my stock TA-05 IFS kit and put a Team Novak Havoc Pro Ballistic 13.5T Brushless System in it.

I want to gear it to run it faster and from what I can work out the gears in the car are either 0.6 module of 48P - is that one in the same???

I want to order some bigger spur gears and perhaps a larger pinion than the stock one.

Thanks for your help.

Default IFS vs V2

Which car is most desireable and why, the IFS or the V2 ?

thanks

The Version 2 is newer, so parts will be easier to find, and it fixes a few things from the original car. They almost look the same, but look hard enough and you'll see the difference between the two.

Yup it's tamiya 0.6 modules. You can just chane the main spur to a .48 one if you wish? I use a 105t 0.4 module spur on mine

Can I use regular 64 pitch pinion with the 0.4 module 105 tooth spur?

No. 64 pitch cannot be used with the metric .4 module.

You run the risk of stripping the teeth on the spur gear.

Best thing to do is convert the spur gear to a 64 pitch.

On my TA05-IFS, I'm running 48 pitch pinion and spur.
Just went to my local hobby shop and they were able to match up the correct spur to get rid of the metric gear of the tamiya.
Plus, the adds benefit is it makes it easier to change gears by that I mean it gives you more gearing options.

I would go with the TA05 V2...the V2 is just the newer version and they upgraded and fixed some issues from the first version.

As for the IFS, although nice and different from the rest, in my opinion the TA05 is easier to set up as you have less adjustments then the IFS. Also, it's easier to find parts for the non IFS.

I live in California, and it seems whenever I need parts for my IFS I'm having to order them online.....and 90% of the time the parts are coming from Japan.
Where if I had the none IFS, my local hobby stores have the parts for those.

Yes some parts are interchangeable, but not all of them...So, if you get a IFS, Just make sure when you order hop up parts, that those parts are for the IFS and not the non IFS...otherwise you'll run into headaches trying to modify your car to use the non IFS parts on the IFS.

Does anyone know if there's a retailer or seller that sells a conversion kit of all the necessary parts to go from a TA05 to a TA05-IFS. I have one a hopped up TA05 that I bought a while back and would like to make the conversion to IFS so I can use a particular body.

Are the front and rear belts of the TA05 series cars compatible with my TA05 MS?

Thanks.
