You can use either the large diff rings (round) or the smaller D-shaped rings (your link above). Advantage of the larger rings: you can use more diff balls (you can tighten less still reaching the desired locking level). Glueing is not necessary with the alloy diff joints (however, some may disagree with that), you have to try...

i just ran my IFS R the other day on the track, and i must say i'm totally impressed! the car sticks on the track even on tight turns and i haven't even tried to change any of its settings.. it's all box settings as of the moment. i'm really happy with my purchase!

First race meet with my IFS-R on the weekend, got to change camber settings apparantly as I am going to run Jaco Blue Rubber Tyres. Be interesting, my last "racer" was over a yr ago and that was a 415MSXX. Seems very easy to handle up and down the street on cheapy tyres though, not sure on these alloy turnbuckles though, might have to swap them out for Titanium.

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the 2 latest TC chassis tamiya released was all in IFS version? that would be the TA05 and TB03. that's why i'm really positive that the next TRF chassis would be an IFS...

that's correct, but even if I would love to see that coming true, I would not bet on that. The high end competition cars usually follow what the cracks want and they usually stick with what they know and are used to...

What I could imagine is an new touring car, e.g. a TRF417 which you can have in either versions, normal and IFS...

the old TA05R is now discontinued, they're only offerring the IFS as the only TA05 R version.

the IFS system is really more than just being able to mount bodies with low bonnets..

I fully agree with you, I'm running the IFS more than a year now (since April last year) in different classes and different versions and I can only confirm what you are saying. However, seeing the guys over here in Europe or at least here in Switzerland, I would assume that it will take a long time until they will switch from their beloved common TC layouts to a IFS.

What I can tell you is that I'm trying to improve the acceptance of the car amongst the racers over here and I'm also trying to prove the potential of the car and the layout. I'm actually working on a new thicker chassis plate to reduce the flex of the 3Racing conversion to be able to run the IFS on modified level on high bite carpet tracks, getting the setup to work more precisely and have the car a bit more reactive.

Spacers are added between the damper ball-joint and the rocker arm. This makes the rocker arm shorter or longer which is like moving the lower shock position. The difference is that much smaller changes can be made to this point which is similar to moving the upper shock position...

Can anyone tell me what parts i need to buy to adjust the rear toe on the TA05 IFS-R. Stock it's set at -3 deg toe in which is a lot. I'd like to try less obviously. I see parts on rc-mart from 3 racing and yeah racing for the TA05 but no idea if they actually fit the IFS-R which seem to use a lot of TRF415 parts.

I see the 415 has rear suspension blocks "1XD" which i assume is a variation on the "1D" part that comes stock with the IFS-R although i have no idea what the difference is.

Any help appreciated!
