Unhappy Where to repair Tekin charger?

OK, this jerk sells me a Tekin BC112A for $75. I ask him if it works and if it's a NiMH compatible version, and he says yes, of course. Good deal, right? Wrong. When I recieve it, the charger doesn't even freakin charge for 10 seconds before it gets so hot it turns itself off, and it's only software version 24 (27 and above are NiMH compatible). I email him asking for my money back, and he refuses to send me my money back. So, I figure I'd have it repaired and sell it. My only problem is, where can I get it repaired? Thanks in advance.

Express Tech can repair the charger, and if you like they can also upgrade the software to H31 (the latest revision).

Their email is: [email protected]
their phone # is: 949-388-9042

It might take a day or two to get a reply from them, but they will reply.

the same thing happened to me from a guy on the old rctouring boards. it took him a month to send it. it came and was version e25, despite his saying he bought it new in may 2001. when i charge it just gives me an error code that signals low power supply. ec2 maybe. anyway. please post what they send you if you can, because i'm interested in doing the same thing. thanks. maybe i'll upgrade if it is reasonable. well, later.

Don't quote me on this, but if I'm not mistaken it's $50 or $55 to upgrade to the H31 software. They have to change the EPROM and several components on the circuit board. I'm considering getting my 112C upgraded.

That would be in addition to whatever the repair cost is I'd imagine...

I'm pretty sure they will, but you might want to email them first to find out.
