Default Who makes the best shocks?

Alot of people have been seen using Tamiya shocks on their cars.

but which shock are they using?

The TRF threaded body version,
http://www.speedtechrc.com/store/ebp...id=464&id=4544

Or the "Hard coated" version,
http://www.precisionrc.com/nv/car/pr...oduct_id=52884

If not these the what are other people using?

Hart Coated is the newest version. That will be a better choice.

People always rate the Tamiya as the best hands down but I have to say that I have been using the current Yokomo and Kyosho TF-5 shocks too and they are also excellent.

just because people use them doesnt make them the best, in my opinion the xray shocks have the most to offer, they are lite weight, they dont leak when built properly, and they can be built with externally adjustable pistons that work great, and make your car that much easier to tune......

Schumacher's new Mi3 shocks (same as the EC but with an extra bleed hole in the shock cap) are so easy to fill compared with any other. I matched all 8 shocks I had first time!

I also have some TRF shocks but I have replaced these with Mi3's

the Tamiya TRF shocks are the benchmark when building or using new shocks that's the reason why they are the best shocks in the market today

Xray adjustable are killer. Nothing like being able to change damping in a couple minutes. Certainly one of the most innovative RC inventions. Only thing I'd like to see is an metal shock body.

Hardly an XRAY innovation. First I saw that on were Schumacher shocks in the early 90's.

Personally I'd rather change the oil and keep the same piston, for the purpose of more consistent "pack" in high-speed damping.
