novak GTB cogging
 

Hello.

i have sometimes cogging problems with my brand new novak GTB.
some people say that it´s because i run futaba 2,4ghz, it that´s true ?
i have checked motor temp,esc temp ratio everything and it´s seems all good.
i live in europa, so i run 5cells in my car, that an issue ? maybe ?
but the weird is that it is not all the time, it start cogging about 4 minutes of drive, or sometimes even in the start.

it´s cogging with one secounds pulses if you know what i mean.

I had the same problem with my first GTB...

It resolved itself after I reset everything to default settings.

I noticed it started after I ran a brushed motor then switched back to a brushless motor.

Yes you can, many people have the same problem with spektrum receivers because they use more power than normal receicers, when you pull the throttle the motor sucks so much power causing the receiver to cut off.
Try plugging a cap into a spare receiver slot. That should fix the problem.

Thanks for that answer....i just learned something new.
I am aware that this common when running 4 cell packs (12 scale) the guys just add a capacitor which works great, didn't think it would affect 5 cells.
something new to test.

Receiver low voltage can be an issue under loads with mod motors. Seems that some receivers, Not only DSM type, can suffer from this. Many think it's cogging, but in fact it's just the RX turning on and off very quickly.

Spektrum sells what they call a "Receiver Filter Cap", Novak offers a "Glitch Buster". Either will work to address this problem, they get plugged into an open channel on the RX.

Also, go to a softer throttle input setting. That way, the motor isnt sucking so much juice when you stab the throttle. That coupled with the Novak glitchbuster, bye bye cogging. And when its Novak, it isnt cogging, it's spurting. Cog indicates power isnt being recieving properly, spurting is power oozing...harness that power with the glitch buster and rip!
