lipo charging temp

To my knowledge Lipo packs are not supposed to get real warm when charging them like Nicads or Nimh do. If your Lipo gets warm there is a problem. I never had mine get warm at all on my ICE. I own the same Maxamps pack that you do. As long as you are charging it at the right amps on a Lipo charger or Lipo mode there shouldn't be any problems. I am sure someone with more knowledge on this will chime in.

Lipos dont usally get warm at all when charging. If you are using the correct method (cc-cv, constant current-constant volts) I dont think you should be charging at nor more than 4.4amps (1C) and when the voltage of the pack gets to 8.4v (may be 8.2v) the current then drops to keep the cells at no higher than 8.4v and when the current drops to a certain level the charger may go into Trickle mode but at this point the cells are nearlly full.
I think this is pretty much standard with most Lipo chargers.

If your Li-Po gets warm, check your amp input. At 4400 mah, you should be charging no higher than 4 amps. Use a temp gun to get an accurate reading, before and after charging. If your charger has input settings, set it for 4400mah. After doing all of this, if it gets warm, you might want to talk to the folks at MaxAmps.
