64dp spur gear? The smallest??

Hi all,

I'm in dubio... I'm going to race this season in stock class. The handout motor is a 19t element V2. There are tracks where you should drive a ratio of 3.5 or even lower. My car is a Tamiya MSXX with i.r. of 2.25. Can anybody tell me what the smallest size 64dp spur is available (and where)? Does any of you racers have an advice for the right gearing?? Thanx in advance!!

Roger

BTW, it's 64P (pitch), not 64dp (dot pitch).

There are 72, 78, and 82 tooth spurs out there. When i ran velodrom we ran them with 45 to 50 tooth pinions. I know kimbrough makes an 88.

here is a post from tony from prs.. It was requested that smaller spurs be available for brushless oval racing, and they are doing it now...\

2007 NEW PRODUCTS

You brushless guys have requested, well we listened. We will be introducing a few new spur gears to the Pro-Lite Oval line within the next few weeks.

PLO-6484 84 tooth Pro-Lite Oval
PLO-6480 80 tooth Pro-Lite Oval

A 76 tooth maybe added later on down the road but for now look for the 84 and 80 tooth to hit the local hobbyshops very soon.

Barry at MSA will be the first to stock these smaller spurs. As soon as they ship to him I will post letting ya'll know so your local hobbyshops can order.

Tamiya has a 72t, but it was for the shaft drives!
