Yep, it's tough. Probably the CE Turbo 35 is the best, but I dont even think it's avaible here in europe. Besides, it's very very expensive.

My personal favorites are the Expert and the Pulsar. But to me, the Pulsar is expensive, and the discharge rate are a bit on the too low side and at my opinion, the display aint clear enough. Besides, at races, it's best that the discharger and the charger are individual, so you are allowed to charge and discharge at the same time. For me, this is important since I'm running stock class and using 3000 cells, which got plenty of juice after a heat / qualifier.

So all in all, I tend to choose the Expert, even if it cant match cells and measure average voltage. But fortunately, I already got a reasonably charger, so I got plenty of time.

If I should suggest a more budget friendly charger here in europe, it'll be the CS Space Charger Pro. And the CS Cap Check Pro discharger are very, very interesting.

har har
i dont want to just jump on the bandwagon
but u NEED a peak detection charger.seriously , other wise u might as well throw away ur batteries after 3 months.
take a good look at the Integy/Eagle CDC V6 .i think abt same price as a Pulsar.
it has a lot more CHARGING FEATURES than the Pulsar.
and with 20A discharge ...it can take really good care of ur battteries.
KO-213MH charger is $130 BUT i dont like it bcos it can just false peak for nothing ... and u cant adjust the peak mV.
gotta go.....CSI coming on

Well, it's your packs.... but this is overcharging, and it will for sure hurt your packs. Overcharging is the most common reason for packs dying an early death.

If your dad is interested in electronics/physics, then this might interest him: NiCd FAQ And if this technically explanation teases him, then you got a good argument.

If your dad is your sponsor (lucky you ), then I think he would prefer to buy the charger, rather than see his investetment collecting dust because of dead packs. This should probably be phrased more politely

Ha, that's a good one.

What's her number and name?

Hmmm. Maybe we should start a thread, for advises on how to motivate our sponsors and tips for convincing girl friends / wifes, why RC components are so important....
