I want to run a front wheel drive setup for a race meet coming up and i wnat to know if front wheel drive should be soft on the front and firm on the rear or vice versa???? suspension hardness im talking about.

Softer front springs will encourage more traction - but I would set the car up according to how it handles on the track, not on theory. I run my Tamiya mini really stiff, because otherwise it's incredibly nervous around the track.

Back when I just got into rc racing, they use to race the fwd cars quiet often. I always thought that they would be cool to still race. I enjoy the modern sedans, but I think a spec class with Tamiya FWD cars would be fun. And RC could always use a little more fun factor!

We run the hell out of the Tamiya FWD cars, both the FF01 (TA02FF) and the FF02. The standard setups for both are stiff in the front, and soft in the rear. You would also generally run a softer insert in the back. The main trick is figuring out how to drive it. It is a whole other world driving them. Tamiya use to have a seperate class in their series, and we still run that class. We even have endurance races with them, 2.4 hours and such. We also have had point series with weight added for the winners and removal for "loosers". After 15 races these things weight 5 pounds without the battery.
