44 to 46 min to charge and 6 min to race they should make some 2500 packs with the power of the 42wc. so that way they chrage faster for us racers.

You can calculate it if you know the capacity

e.g. if you have to put in 4200 mAH,

4200 mAH = 4.2AH

4.2AH / 6.0A = 0.7HR x 60 min/HR = 42 minutes

Just take mAH / 1000 / Amps charge rate x 60 min/hr and you get how many minutes it takes to recharge. Of course after you charge a few you already know if you pay attention, however it helps to know if you need to peak at a different amp rate and need to calculate when to put it on the charger to make it peak right before the race.

I think they do have a battery that is like that, takes less time to charge and no need to discharge first. I think they calll them LIPO?

Hi:
sorry for hijacking the thread, but as it is about the IB4200... I recently bought 10 loose cells, and once soldered, I realise that one pack has 2 bad cells... if you push them lower than 10A they seems to work OK, however, you put more than that and the pack suddently fell to 4.0 v (I'm using 5 cell packs)... and this is only on the third charge/discharge cycle... the other pack works perfectly OK... has anyone had this problem before? How can I solve it? I've tried to tray the pack and charge individually the cells but these two cells always do that... I bought the cells on precisionrc, do you think I can claim warranty or something like that?

thanks

This is pretty common with IB4200 cells. There are a lot of threads around RC Tech about this and related issues. It's a bit of the price to be paid for working with the loose/unmatched cells as they may or may not have been thoroughly tested. That said, even packs matched by good matchers fail frequently. The IB4200 is a very high voltage, but less stable cell and there are a lot of pitfalls. It's a love/hate relationship for most people.
