I'm not sure how else we could have handled this.

Hope this answers some questions.

Easy have the factory teams sign up the week before...

I got in and made plans, but I do think its kind of unfair to open entries at 1pm on a weekday. I guess some of you are saying unprepared hard working guys that arent behind a computer all day don't deserve to go to this race. Now im sure noone thought it was gonna sell out in 3 hours but I would hope this will be changed for next year. I guess the best thing to do is live and learn. Why not 9pm so everyone has a chance. Just a suggestion.

Keep up the hardwork guys I can't wait till Sept.

Lightbulb If I remember correctly..

This is similar to why the RROC in Cali entry went to a lottery system.. But instead of 'those who have access to a PC/internet all day' it was the 'Locals' who had the advantage. Because their entries would obviously get there sooner..

In a perfect world, this would be fine. But when you have a race director dealing with 10-12 teams around the globe, who are not entirely certain themselves who they will be sending, it gets a bit more complex.

@L.Fairtrace: I agree about the timing thing (see my previous post).

@OSherman: Very true. Although, I am fairly certain that anybody who emailed Scotty for the wait list yesterday will get into the race. So keep 'em coming guys.

Regarding email problems: I have successfully moved the intchamps email addresses to the correct mail server. However, we're experiencing a distributed spam attack on our gateways right now that is maxing out connections and causing a delay (or failure) in delivery of legitimate messages. I'm working to block this right now, and hopefully the mail should be fully sorted out by this evening.

There is not happy medium with this as some people hardworking work second shift. The only real way would have been to open it on Sunday at 3pm as it would of covered all but a few unlucky souls that work Sunday. But this last Sunday would not have been good as it was mothers day. But then again it took 8 days to sell out last year who would of thought that it would sell out in 3 hours. Scotty did his best to keep everybody happy with people at least being able to do it on their lunch break for some. Plus I have a feeling that entries are not as full as you think they are. I would be courious to know the break down of "open entires per class" vs "team entires" I figure Scotty left a few openings for the international regular people also, which like I said makes this race what it is. So just say your from indochina and your name is fung haung lo and you should be able to get in.

I Live in Vegas and this is my first IIC and the entry was definitely different. I was one of the ones that decided to take the day off so I could make the entry. I DO sit behind a computer all day (IT Department) but I still took the day off to sign up.

Now everyone does not have the ability to do so and because they can't it doesn't mean that they didn't want to attend the race. I haven't signed up for the race until this year and I actually liked the online payment because I then don't have to sit at home wondering did my entry make it ontime.

Do i agree that if you know the date that preparations could have been made? Absolutely. I don't think anyone is asking anyone to lose their jobs or anything like that but if you know that the IIC (especially in Sin City) is going to go fast then you have to make the adjustment. Have a friend do it, take the day off etc. I do agree that opening the entries at about 5 to 8 pm would be better because then you don't run into this issue and if signing up for every race was as easy then there would be no complaints.

I agree that if you are factory, you should have to worry about signing up. But i DO NOT AGREE that anyone dropped the ball, you just can't please everyone even though we sometimes do our best to try. I think people will learn from this year and make it better in the future.

I think that my motivation was the fact that it is here in town and I don't have to get a room!! LOL

I just wanted to put in my opinion because I am a IIC First timer and even though I didn't know a lot about the entry (time etc) I still made it with a little preparation.

See ya guys there.
If you need to know where the chicks are (NOT the cathouse girls lol) then there are tons of clubs here that are not on the strip or in a casin that are off the hook. See ya in 4.

That is definitely true. I remember Scotty emailing me specifically asking if I got a room or if I was staying with someone at the hotel. As far as I know, this year is no different. You do need a room at the hotel in order to race. That is unless Scotty or Boomer say otherwise.

That's right.

And no, I don't feel like working. I don't think I'm gonna work anymore. I don't really like paying bills either.

I think I'm just gonna race R/C cars.
