Why? Thats all I have used so far and Ive had no problems. Why would a charger not charge a specific brand of pack?

QUOT we do not recommend the use of MRC brand chargers as tests have shown them to be potentially damaging to team orion batteries.
ues only chargers for li-po batteries that utilize a cc-cv method with a cut-off function charging at 3A or more.

Balancing. For the orion packs can you just use the 2mm plug and then charge each individual cell without having to buy a balancer?

I also have some maxamp saddlepacks and would like to balace them for the first charge on racedays. Would the astroflight blinky be a good option.

I think this quote refers to the previous model MRC charger, not the new SuperBrain 989 charger...

Yeah thats what I thought to. It doesn't say anywhere in the pamphlet I got with the Orion pack about not charging with an MRC charger. Thanks for the heads up though, you cant be to careful.

There have been a lot of questions about Lithium Polymer batteries. Better known as Lipo.

I believe lipos are the future. I have been using them in my planes for some years now.

For the last year I have been using them in my 1:10 rc car as well.

The questions of balancing or equalising the cells is problably not very important in a pack with 2 cells. But this matter as been a very discussed one since ever.

I remember discussions with JJ Hong (mr. Kokam himself) and Charlie Wang the man of Thunder Power. Mr Hong was not very concern about that question, mr. Wang was.

Today all the packs bring equalizing ports, but we notice that in Kokam batteries they have very little use. For you that do not know, packs from Team Orion are made with kokam cells.

For those who think lipos are new, look at this where everything begun for RC back at 2002 when Mr. Hong introduced himself in the forum I was in back in those days. Mr Hong is no longer the owner of Kokam but that was back at 2002.

Mr. Hong is an interesting character. I read through some of this a few nights ago and really enjoyed it. It certainly makes you appreciate Kokam for being so supportive of R/C early on.

Congratulations, Just remember the golden rule, never but never allow the pack to go under 6v (3v per cell).

I'm currently running an old Novak Super sport BL system, what is the best way to determine the voltage cutoff.

i dont think you can with that, you can run 5min then stop or

you can get a LRP 07 speedo that has the safe lipo cut-off.

or maybe the pricey tekin though i think it will be a great speedo.

I am going to upgrade at a later date. I'm very interested in the Tekin product but it's seems to be a ghost.
