Default F**'kin Lrp V7.1

Up until now I was pleased with this speedo, good punch, excellent brakes etc. But I was racing today and halfway through a race, I and most of the spectators noticed clouds of black smoke and the toxic smell of burning plastic pouring out of my car, S**T!!! I took the car off the track and what a surprise, the speedo had blown up. What I really want to know is, is it worth sending the speedo off and having to pay 70+ to get it repaired or could anyone recommend a v7.1 equivalent for around 90 ($150).

Thanks

Sounds prettyd much like the warranty period is over....

A guy at our club had an LRP ESC. It blew up, he turned it in in the LHS, and simply got a brand new one for half the price!

i would say just get a new esc. there are so many smaller ones out there for your price limit.

gmv12
lrp quantum
novak gt7
mtroniks cube or (m3 or something like that)
keyence zero series (a bit expensive)

just an opinion. who knows, you may run into someone that will look at it and know exactly how and where to get that fet the you likely blew. the part is likely under $10.

bummer, and good luck.

I just replaced a blown FET in my Integy 16x7 and it cost me a whopping $1.45! If you know the type of FET you need www.digikey.com has a large selection.

If you have a LHS where they know you just have them print off a reciept and then send your speedo in and they will fix it for free. I had to do that to my IPC speedo. If you can't get a fake reciept then just get a new speedo. Good luck.

Depending on if you want to spend $ or not, either fix it or buy another esc. I've always been a HARDCORE Tekin fan. Although they've gone out of business (unconfirmed) you can still get some of them on ebay. I have always used a G9 supersonic & I've never killed one. I beat them up too. I hear the G12 is better than the G9 but dunno. I'm also purchasing a Schulze brush/brushless controller. The thing has AWESOME specs.
