Shock Problem FK04

Hey i have a XRAY FK04 and it has a big problem that just started happening recently, during a race my shock keeps on coming off and when i try to tighten the shock using my 3.0mm hex wrench it just keeps turning until my tool pops off i look at it and i saw that there was a smaller screw inside the bigger 3mm shock ball slot, so i screwed it back in (it requried a 1.5mm hex wrench) but it just keeped on going so i took the whole shock off and had a look at it and i found that there was a long glove screw like the pinion screw but bigger in the shock so i unscrewed it and screwed it back into the hole but it keeped on going in until there was no screw left and the hole isnt striped or anthing because it does it on all four shocks plus on my spare chassis any ideas because there is never a tight spot it just keeps on screwing in and when i race the vibration and all that loosens the shock and it comes off, any help would be greatly appreciated

Should be uploading some images soon

Thanks,
Adam

Is the ball backing off of the stud, or is the stud coming out of the arm? If the ball is backing off, just try a very small drop of thread lock. If the stud is coming out of the arm, you could put a drop of CA in the hole and thread it back in where it needs to go. Or, you could replace the arm.

1.5mm stud
screw it into the arm till there`s about 1-2mm left showing out of arm
get the 3mm shock ball screw it on

that`s how it does go on the pinching effect of the 3mm ball in shock end keeps it on the stud by tighting it up
it`s the same way as it is fixed to the shock tower put screw through ,3 mm ball other side goes up tight & holds the lot together

does the ball stay on stud ,but shock end falls off ??

HTH

Thats the same thing I did but added a small washer. Keeps the shock eyelet from popping off the ball
