From what I've heard it's always on Memorial Day weekend, so this year that means the race is probably May 25-27.

Yep, everything is on schedule for the race. You should start seeing some press for it very soon.

The big question for this year is going to be the battery rule. With ROAR sticking with 6 cells, EFRA at 5 cells and JMRCA at 4 cells, what will the invite, open and 19 turn classes use? My vote is 6 cell for open and 19 turn (ROAR rules) and 5 cell for invite (most likely going to become IFMAR rules). What's everyone elses thoughts?

I hope they stick with 6-cell...slower is definitely not better.

E, hopefully batts will have better numbers by then. I'm really looking forward to this race.

Dont knock the 5 cell till you run it... It is every bit as fast around the track as 6 cell, and sometimes faster (depending on track)

That's true...I have seen Tim Potter and others running the 5 cells, and its just as fast- weight drop, plus better motor gearing and efficiency- the only noticable difference is off the line rip and torque. Now cars are more stable coming out...its better I think. But the best is LIPO. I cant wait to see LIPO become mainstream. Orion Lipo packs are great, and evens out the playing field. Everyone has the same power, and you dont have to worry about discharging or ruining your cells after 6 months of use, or them going obsolete every year since every year bigger and more powerfull cells come out, sometimes even 2 or 3 times a years(due to competirotrs battery wars)...what a waste money and time...LIPO takes care of that...

At the last state race I ran 5 cell with the new LRP X11 4.5T motor. I will drag race ANYONE's 6 cell 7 turn setup with my 5 cell setup. Anyone that says 5 cell is slow doesn't know what they are talking about.

I have talked with a few Euro drivers and they ALL say 5 cells give faster lap times. The acceleration is the sames as 6 cell with the latest BL motors but the corner speeds are way highter than with 6 cell.

How did you balance the car out... since BL systems are so heavy and the batteries become lighter, did you have tones of preload on one side?
