Expert Stock Racers: Opinion Needed
For all of the Racers that are good enough to regularly race in the Expert Stock class at their local track(s).
What Brand and Type of Laydown Brushes have you found to make the MOST overall Power in your Stock Motors.?
Thanks,

For GM3's try an e-brush on the positive and a 767 on the negative.
Monster stocks go with the 99 plus compound(not the diag. serrations) with about .010" trimmed off the trailing edge and a 1/16" hole in the middle of the brush face.
Handout paradox(still a good motor) just about any brush works well, the just need a large vertical slot in the middle.
All set-ups with red positive and green negative springs,or try 2 reds on the monster.

In my monsters Axiom 1202 12% full face brushes seem to give the best results. I have heard that 1203 12% cavity work very well also. I agree with gazza, on the springs, red +, green - is the way to go.

767's for MVP's work well, but they should be narrowed to be just a little wider than a mod brush.

I'm gonna chime in anyway. 4499 have worked the best for me in Trinity motors except for my GM3 which I ran Putnam Green & Blue shunt brushes on the pos and neg, respectively.
MVP (or Yok based can) - Big Jim style narrowed 767 and 766 on pos and neg, respectively.
Of course, I'm slow so don't listen to me.

For the most power the Putnam green/blue brushes.

On Monsters, I usually use 767's with Purple/Red or Red/Green (Red/Red is ok too) as a starting point. The Crosscuts with Purple/Purple work good on some motors, lately I've had the best luck with Axiom 12% and red/green springs. Just about any high silver brush will make good power (4499, 4499+, Crosscut, 767, Axiom 12%, etc, etc...) I really think it's all about finding the best brush for the specific motor (some Monsters are best with 4499's, others best with 767's)

Guys;
So is it a concenses that High Silver brushes work better in most Stock Motors (more Power)?

it is a trade off, higher silver content = more power and more wear.

Putnam Brush Guys: I've played with Putnams for awhile now, but always green/green. Question: What does the blue on the negative do for you? Is it reduced wear? If wear is no object (power at any cost) would the green/green be better? You thoughts?
Personally, I've found the Monster Stock to be rather insensitive to brushes....4499's, Putnams, 767's....all seemed to fly the mail...LC

Yeah, I forgot about the Putnam Green/Blue combo lots of power coupled with lots of wear. Usually I'll run that in 4-cell stock or 19t be it oval or road course, haven't played with it in touring yet, but if power and comm life is not a question go for the Putnams.
BTW Fantom 315's are Reedy 767's
