Talk to other racers at your local track, see what they run. then go from there.
If you were to get some off the wall car, you may not be able to get help from the local guys. Just my .02

Thumbs up locatio, location, location..

I just realized you are in Fallbrook.. Not too far from myself..

I know HobbyTown in Escondido stocks/can get LOSI and Associated parts with ease.. They can also get Schumacher, HPI, Tamiya or anything else if you can give them a name and/or a partnumber..

Ampdraw Hobbies located in Encinitas/DelMar seems to have access to EVERYTHING already.. From what i hear their online shop is active now.. Store front to open soon

There are HobbyPeoples in both Escondido and near Murrieta.. I know they carry Associated and HPI..

I think those are the closest shops to you...

SoCal, last time i was there (many moons ago), had all the popular/seasonal items...

hope this helps..

P.S.
Be on the lookout for the Carpet Track that may be coming to Oceanside..

there is a thread here somewhere to track its progression..
