I notice one of my front drives is spread and fanning apart where the axle goes into it. Is this piece now junk, or can the alum alloy withstand being bent back if I remove it? Part about to fail?

This is a common issue and you will have a hard time getting the parts apart with out damaging the parts. Bending it back will not be a good idea even if you do get it apart in one piece. If you can find one I suggest a Spring Steel replacement XRAY makes under the number 305315

Are you talking the long or short diff shaft? The light wieght ones?
If so I've had a fifty fifty on that as far as bending back.
The old style, and I think on the 007 are the best to get if thats what your talking about.
The wheel axl hex hubs, I have the spring steel to.
The only way to go.

Its the inner drives on the front differential. The ones that the steel drive axles go into with those black plastic pads held on with a pin through them.

I have the steel axles that the wheels bolt to.

If your careful they can be bent back. I've done it, but i broke one once to.
Brushless and mod are hard on them.
The ones that I think the 007's are coming out with are the best.
The original EVO 2 type. Not sure of the part#.

There are solid (no light weight cutouts) They should hold up better.

Thank you very much. Sorry for the confusing terminology. I just looked in the manual this am and it calls them diff shafts, short and long. Didn't list a part number, so I appreciate you providing me with one. Even better that its an upgraded part for durability.
