A quick soldering iron question, buying online, here's what I need.....

(and google doesn't seem to be helping much).....

I'm looking for a good iron for my car work and the Goot PX-201 seems ideal but I'm not having any luck finding a store that sells the 240v version and ships overseas and will take a CC online.

It doesn't have to be this model/make and 12v or gas will do.

So what I need is an iron that can vary its power from say 25w up to 70-80w (like the Goot), and meets the criteria mentioned above.

If it's ac it has to be 240v otherwise the rest apart from shipping and CC payment is negotiable (so long as it can do from deans plugs to battery bars and servo leads from time to time).

Thanks in advance.

I use a 40W Weller for everything. As long as you keep the tip clean, it will work for everything I have thrown at it. They are very easy to find also.

Default Soldering iron

I use a 50/60w iron for all my work also and I solder a lot of stuff from very fine work (electronics) to rc batteries. You really dont need anything special just change tips if you need to.

Suzuki. He clearly said that he wanted a 240v one, the hobbico is usa 110/120v.

Hey mate, check out antex, they do budget irons that are good aswell as higher priced ones.

exactly right cheap hobbico, this thing does not get hot enough to melt butter.

get a hakko 60W or better.
