Default Orion or Novak Brushless

I am thinking of going brushless but I don't know whether to go for the Novak 3.5 with GTB or wait for the new Orion brushless to come out. I have seen alot of thermalling issues with the novak. Could I please have some comments on this.

I'd save some money and hassle and wait for the orion.

Tested my 3.5 last weekend and the motor and speedo aren't thermaling at all. Not even close to thermaling.

Here is what the new Orion motor will look like:

I have been running it for a while and it totally rocks!!
Very nice and smooth trottle feel, you know exactly where the power band is at all times

Also, it has a trick fan inside, my motor is arround 40deg C. after a 6 1/2 min run. Runs very cool!!

I'm curious how its hybrid sensor/sensorless mode works with Novak's motors, especially the slower ones like the 13.5 and 4300.

Is Orion still coming out with a brushless ESC or just a motor? I thought I read somewhere just a motor (no longer an ESC like originally thought) but I could be wrong.

If you are smart enough to NOT over gear any Novak motor you will be just fine. You gear it according to temp, IT WILL NOT THERMAL IF IT IS GEARED PROPERLY. I know nothing about the orion, but thermal issues are due to the fact people are pushing it farther than it was ment to be. Remember the idea behind the brushless was less maintenece, and greater efficiancy, when geared to piss, magnets get hot and it startes to loose power (as w/any motor w/ magnets), if that what you are planing, you might as well save some $$$ and stayed w/ brushed.....my 2cents

I have heard Orion will just relase motors at moment, will work with any brand of BL speedo's though!

I am waiting for the GM Genius 100 speedo, looks really good!!

He eirik, how does the back end of the Orion motor look like. Because the GM motors sometimes do not fit into cars (bj4).
