You don't always need the newest touring car out but everyone thinks the new version is better and thats no always the case. It is hard not to buy the latest offering out by different companies thats for sure.
This has been my cheapest year as instead of buying every new car that came out I decided to run one brand. I bought one car in a year vs my standard 3 or 4. One a year or so I can live with.

I traded my T2 for an Fk05 so the 4800 lipos would fit with out the modifcation. The big question is why the 05 and not another brand?
I dont get out much but I thought Xray was winning a lot of event's.
Myself I'm waiting to see the associated. I would like to try one.
The key question is why is Xray so popular?
I would think most manufactorers would want to stucture off of that success.
Even if they make a car with a center mount battery. I think every kit will go that way some day.

In spite of being notorious for delays, I really do think Losi is going to get theirs out the door first. It's the only one with production pictures available, which has to count for something. Two weeks can't last forever, right?
Schumacher I dunno much about, but Adrian's been dropping hints that it'll be here soon.
The TC5 is getting closer, but still seems to be under active development. I can't get a read on this one. Rumors of limited engineer resources and a forthcoming 1/8 worry me. Associated has the most incentive to release a new kit, since they're the furthest behind, so maybe we'll see a real push from the TC5.
The new Corally and the TC5 may be close. They're saying early 2007, but where's the production pictures? Has the production design even been finalized yet? Remember the 12X being 9 months late? I think it's gonna be a while for the Phi. We've recently seen changes from one prototype to the next, and the US team doesn't have cars to test that we've heard of. Lets see what happens at the birds.
XRay will undoubtedly have a new kit shipping by 4Q 2007. It already feels like the T2'007 has been around for an eternity in XRay years.

oh the drama of RC car racing....you gotta love it....somehow i am spend way too much time lurking in all the forums.....
my wife always asks me what is going on so she can be in the "loop" of what is going on....it is better than all the soap operas.....
I agree with Weylin - you don't have to have a "new" car every 7-8 months - look at the RDX - it has been going strong now for some 2 years or so.
My wife's FK05 was one of the best cars I have ever driven, and I know that you could even give an FK04 to Burch, Dumas, Easton, Rheinhard, etc. and i bet you they could win with it next to all the "new" and prototype cars out there.
I am all about innovation and moving this hobby forward, and one of the reasons I love TC so much is the intricacies and the sheer engineering behind these "toy" cars. I for one have knocked Xray for their development of their cars, but one thing I give them credit for is pushing the envelope. They in essence have forced other companies to come out with something new, and in turn I think we will all benefit from all companies pushing the envelope to produce a better car than what we are driving today.
ok....i am done now....
P.S.
1. Xray 008
2. Mi3
3. Losi
4. RDX phi
5. TC5

Guess they need to learn to set up their cars a little differently....since its a new car it doesnt quite react the same as the old car. I heard Blackstock bitching at the Novak racing saying the Corally was a Polish car...why because everything he had to do to it was bass ackwards from his 007.
Why are so many JRXS guys trading them in for 007's and RDX's?
