It gives smooth delivery of current, solder it on to the + and - terminal of the battery. I have an evo V, and i use it onroad, with my 19T where I like some punch.

I use the s4 in my evo 5 also, after newb and someone else offered advice on how to hook it up. It requires a (diode?) that needs to be run between the + & - motor terminals. I just couldnt figure it out. Thanks agian newb and Xrayfx. I think there is some more info in the vfs-1 thread.

(I am thinking does newb refer to me? haha) Placing the s4 under the shaft of the evo 5 is the perfect place for it. Although wiring is a bit tricky.

The s4 capacitor will come with a small resistor, but its purpose and usage is answered in another thread that i started. Do a search and you will find the answer.

Most brushed ESCs will require a diode that runs between the motor + and - terminals to prevent the backwards emf generated by the motor from damaging the esc.

This is what I was told- The diode you guys mentioned is a resistor. It is not supposed to be soldered to the capacitor, motor or battery. After every run, take the resistor and touch it to the terminals of the capacitor. Its supposed to drain any remaining power from the caps.

Cheers.

How about brushless, I'm switching to brushless and don't know if these caps have any benefit?
