Default Brush vs. Brushless Poll - Let see what you prefer

Let's see what you have to say via a Poll.

Vote on your preference:

I made a mistake on the 4300 in one of the choices on the Poll, and I can figure out how to correct. So the typo is I called it a 4800, and it is 4300 motor. Sorry for that.

That's a difficult poll question. I want to run brushless, but to combine brushless with brushed spec motors is difficult. No matter what you do, one will have an advantage over the other. And then you have all kinds of problems.

Add to that let's say brushless stock is 13.5 turn, currently only made by Novak. What if Reedy or Mamba come out with their own 13.5 turn motor and it's much faster? We're back to Motor Wars, and BL motors are more expensive.

Brushless should be tried on the local level, and see from there if we can come up with a standard. To do something on a national level will cause more problems than cure.

Same can be said about LiPo versus Nickel batteries.

Exactly.... What is good for Club racing may not be good for national racing. What may work great the club level, may not work at all at the National level...

Our club level racing is Stock/13.5 rubber and 4300/19T foam. I will grant that they are not exactly equal and may not work at the national level but for club racing here it works just fine. Gives people the option of BL or brushed and does not give enough advantage to one or the other. Our better drivers win with either and the hope is our classes are bigger.

I can see how at a sanction race seperatoin, except mod would be a good call. Cool poll. Get's rid of any contoversy. Club level is about making a class, and compareing the diferences.

I say mix them in. 19 turn or stock. BL integration has to start somewhere and many clubs just don't have enough turnout to have separate classes. We've been doing it with both classes at our Hobby Town track and it's worked out just fine.

I could not agree more with you guys... The national classes are in a.... another class But club races, it is time to get the track owners to support this... some are on the same page but others are just not getting it...

I'm suprised bvolt I figured this pole would be off the charts.
Its an honest poll to see what poeple would want or like to see in the future, no make believe.
Heres a plug to get out the vote. This poll is an opertunity for all of us to share a voice its important that we dont pass up this oppertunity. So vote and be heard.

Good Work bvolt.
I hope this post get's this thread up front again.

Yep. no thermal in hot tropical countries . And people actually like to tinker around with their motors, mostly old folks though.

I have to say being an "Old Scool" R/C'er... brushless is FAR easier... Plus if you're running 2 classes, in my case Brushless 4300 Sedan and 19t 12th scale - it sure does help as far as being 1/2 the maintenance, truing, tuning...etc.
