Never noticed that about the R3 sway bars- that's trick!
Speed Demon- Spliff is basically an extremely tight front diff. Gives you the pull of a spool but less damaging to the universals.

Thread is starting to jump now. Seems like a some new guys are showing up and running Cuda's. Thats cool.
It seems like alot of guys are using the #2 HPI Piston. Does anyone run the white teflon ones from Alex? I bought some from SPeedtech but didn't order enough of them. I thought you got 4 of them but they come in pairs. I will get some more when I place my next order.

but the ALEX pistion is more like a #3 HPI..or 1.1mm holes

Problem Under Braking with R3
Hi GUys.... I have a small problem with my R3. Under braking coming into a corner it sort of skids a few centimeters (in a striaght line) and then turns. Obviously this is leading me to misjudge my braking point at each corner where brakes are applied.
Was wondering If any one has any tips on how to cure this problem.... I was thinking about the following.
1. Increase Rear droop which should increase weight transfer to the front.
2. Add a thin anti roll bar at the rear.
3. Place rear shocks on the outer hole (fronts are on the outer).
4. Decrease Brake (Step 2 on Nosram Evo)
Am I right on the above? Any Ideas?

how much droop are you running (rear)?
I'd suggest unless it's very little you'd want to decrease it not increase it
You didn't say if it was front or rear or all sliding
Still think you probably got to much weight transfere not to little ??
possibly harder front springs
If it's a problem under braking start with altering the front normally..........

I measure droop from the center of the axle to the ground on 10mm blocks ... at the moment I run 32mm front and rear.
It seems that the front slides.. it sort of 'bobs' up and down for split second with the tires turned...then it turns.. this always under heavy braking into a hair pin.
What do u think?

I'd go for harder front springs
Sorry as for the droop do you know how much upward movement the chassis has from rest fully loaded ??
It makes much more sense to me that way i use 2.5mm front and 4mm rear

I have no idea.... not sure exactly how to measure it. However I would try out a harder spring up front. Thanks for your suggestion.

I just looked at my droop your way roughly
34mm rear 32mm front ish
but my settings are about .5 to 1mm out at the mo (new tyres)
So at a guess using your formula to do it i'd say 31mm font and 33/34 rear
but basicly measuring from the ground to the bottom of your car after setting your ride height i think you should have about 2mm of upward movement at the front and 3/4mm at the rear over and above your ride height to full shock movement.

Up front I also have about .5 toe out ... I will try out the droop measurement tomorrow and let you know how I got on.... if it still dosent work i will try out the harder front springs.....

Merciless your car will always go straight if you lock up the brakes and have 2 diffs in or diff and a spool. Cars will not steer if the brakes are lokced and the car will push or plw straight ahead til you let off the brakes some and the wheels can free wheel. Now if you use a one way up front then you can steer while you apply some brakes but then you more than likely get really loose as the rear tires lock and the fronts don't and it is be like 2wd drive and slide the rear. You could add a tad bit of caster under you front ball studs under the a arms as this will giv you more off power steering. Start with 1mm spacers and work your way up from their. I wouldn't go more than 2mm or so.
