back from racing today
car handeld very well, as usual at my home track
i won the first qualifier (first four drivers within one second ! )
2 and 3 run i made a mistake
i hope new tires will make the difference in the finals

i switched from the rayspeed spings back to alex ones (1.5x6.00 front and rear) those where even working better..

well, is anybody running the stock springs (1.4x6.00), i think they are way to soft !

I've just been experimenting with the digital camera, trying to take some decent shots of the body shell in the sun, its not easy to please myself got one or two that are ok but I don't think the Fuji F401 cuts it for fine detail and clarity, it's great for shoving in a pocket though.
nice body shell herm !

Hello all,

So has anyone found alloy steering knuckles for the R3 yet.Not R2 ones as there no good, need proper R3 ones with the inner steering linkage mounting point !!!

By loosening or tightening the rear diff, how will it effect handling on cornering?

A Tighter rear diff will cause the car to push more though the corner (larger turning circle) but you will probably notice a slightly quicker accelaration out of the corner but again on power it would tend to make your car push wider than if the diff was on a looser setting.

I tend to run my rear diff slightly looser than the front, but tight enough to only JUST slip under hard acceleration from a stand still. The front should not slip at all I.M.O

The car will be easier to drive if you allow your diff's to slip alittle

You can use a set of Team Suzuki...knuckels for the Yokomo SD.... you just have to file off about 1mm total height off of them and you will have alloy knuckles that fit you R3

Simple answer would be to not break them in the first place
But I shouldn't say that, since my cuda's rear diff feels like it has sandpaper in it rather than diff balls and one steering knuckle has a stripped lower screw holes from hitting the boards hard (hitting the boards wasn't my fualt though interference from the transponder )

You're making the Evo IV sound and look very tempting Dave, if I get the chance to update my car in the next few months.....

Hi Dave,

At last your about again ... no chance of replying to your PM's i suspose ??

About the team Suzuki Knuckles they alter the akerman slightly for the worse, My dad's using them on his R3 but i don't like the angles he gets at the wheels now so i've stayed with the plastic standard ones for now.

I was thinking maybe pro4 one's would fit but i don't have any to test with and don't fancy buying just to take a look

When i get my hands on a top deck or two i'm going to mod my R3 to take the R2 steering system then i'll be able to use the std. jet knuckles, but i'm not sure what kind on angles(akerman) that'll give??

But if someone could get square or jet to make R3 knuckles that'd be far better !!!

Did anyone ever had problems with the rear diffs of the barracuda r2 or r3? Do they need a lot of maintenance?
