I'm glad to see I've been moved around the heats from my initial placing, should be a few less slower cars in the way and a few guys in my heat are from my club so I know how to drive with them.
Going to be a very close event though, over 110 stock tourers and most seem to be ok drivers.

There's several people wondering where Dave is something odd going on
You're shimming the input gears? I have the stock r2 system for now until my pal setup gets in but how are you shimming the input gears?

You fit the shims on the gears before you put them in the bearings and shaft holder. By eliminating the play it makes the drive train considerably quieter.
I have yokomo shims, they come in a pack with three thickness' so it's easy to get the right amount of shimming.

Gazza_D,

I don't know if I can help, but I can try. Let me know what web parts you need and I can see if I can order it for you. I spoke with a couple guys locally and they seem to be having the same problem with Dave...MIA packages...I don't know, I haven't heard from Dave myself personally in awhile (3-4 months). Anyway, Gazza, let me know if you want me to help you source the parts

Ok that's what I thought. I'm still learning the car.

Here's another shock related ?, has anyone tried the xray shocks on a cuda? I really like the piston design and they're easy to maintain.

I bought an R3 recently and found out the following:

- No servo saver although mentioned in the instruction manual
- Not enough 10, 12 screws

Where they missing? or simply the instructions in Japanese not precise

With my R2 they were off on the sizes of the screws too. I used mostly stainless steel screws i had left over from a rcscrewz.com kit.

Most other brand shocks are too long compared to Yoke/Cuda shocks- not good for the ride height.

When I built my R2, I got confused by the measurement of the screws. The flat head screws are measured from the top to the bottom while button head and hex head screws are measured by the threads only.
