Thanks for all your help guys! I really appreciate it. I read about people using this Speedway Pal system and various other items for the Barracuda but have no idea what they do? I guess I will have to keep looking through this thread!
Thanks
Joe

the speedway pal system was used on the R2 in order to keep from stripping the spur gear with mod racing . with the R3
there is no worries they have corrected that problem with the new motor mount! the chassis and upper deck is 2.5 mm . to run the foams you can pick up a set of xenon hubs or speedwaypal
and your ready to mount the foams with out rubbing issues.

If you have more questions please ask

Xenon hubs aren't a good idea for 28mm foams, the rears won't work them them. I get the plastic on the ball link rubbing when using 26mm wheels. The fronts are fine with 26mm wheels but I'm not sure how they'd cope with 28mm foams, probably best sticking to Speedway PAL items all round so you have the drop links front and rear too.

Hi Herminator
Speaking of using drop link ,If you use the drop link hop up and it will higher your roll center and which meant your car will react quicker .... Most racer set or use low roll center for carpet with foam tires .

Looks good. To set the toe, just turn the rear A-Arm pivot balls (if they are the gold ones) as they are offcentered.

Never raced on carpet myself, I just know you need to use the drop down mounts with the PAL hubs because they mount so low on the hubs and otherwise the turnbuckles would foul the top deck.
I need to do some reading up again on roll centers, I'll get each setup option figured out one of these days

maybe those wheels have a built in 2mm offset?
my 26mm wheels seem to give the same clearance on the rear as the photo you posted shows. I'm using the big screw down link so thats where the rubbing comes from.
The wheels I'm using are quite old now, I'm pretty sure they have no offset, they are quite wide even for 26mm though.
Another mystery KO
