Brushless & T1 FK05 ???

Hey all,

Just joined , been lurking for awhile. I am in the process of setting up my T1 FK05 for next seasons outdoor parking lot series. We run foams on a mid to large asphalt road coarse. Looking for a good starting pinion/spur combo for this car with my Novak SS 5800 on 6 cells or possibly a new Orion 3200 Li-Po.

I have done a search and didn't really come up with any info, sorry if this has already been asked.

I run an fk05. I would gear it to the moon.
Put a fan on the motor and the speedo.
84 tooth spur, and start your tires at 64mm full size.
Test with stock rotor to find right gear and when stock rotor is done replace with a sintered rotor. I have ran the same foam on asphalt, and the oneway worked awesome.
I wish I could help on the pinion thats probably a track side decision, I just know it will be tall.
I'm glad you came out of the shadows, to join us and dont be affraid to ask questoins, It will help you, and keep us all sharp in the long run.
Later. X

On a SS5800 motor with an 84 spur I'd run a 15 pinion.

I run a 18/87 with the 13.5 and a 14/87 with the 5.5 Velociti

Thanks everyone. I have done some calculating and according to the 1.77 internal ratio of the FK05 i should be running a 20/21 pinion with the 84 spur. That is to keep the final drive near Novak's recommended 7.30:1.

New to this whole rollout thing  .
Just more to learn i guess.

Z-rider: When the 1st ss5800 came out, my son and I ran them out door's
We where keeping up with 9 turns, geared to the moon, they didnt have fans then so I would utilize that it will make the motor more efficiant. Just dont be tempted to gear any higher.
