Hi Guys, Just bought Novak 13.5 for T2 now I need to know how to Gear it without temp goes high
what I have so far: 112 spur and have all these pinions 30, 29, 27 & 26..
I'll be running it in a small indoor carpet with few turns..

I appreciate your input!

Whatever you gear a standard 27t brushed motor, go up 8 pinions and start from there

You should go look at the Novak Stock Brushless thread instead...look there first and understand how crazy about this motor.
I can share my experience...I don't own a T2 anymore, so is your 112 a stock spur gears that most T2 will use...? If so...get a smaller one, like 108 or 104...my story is, I am running Schumacher Mi2EC, stock spur was 118....with 13.5, I have to use 108 spur (10T less)...then I am running from 35-38T pinion for my foam tires from 59mm down to 55mm...

I had my first thermal on my 13.5 running 54mm (2.13") foam with 108/39T at about 8:15 sec with my 4200WC..........and I kinda gun the car, hard brake and really BEAT on the car to see the limit of this 13.5. At least I now know the temp I will have thermal is about 150 plus on motor with 1.31" rollout running way more then 5 minutes.

And my 13.5 is using stock rotor (not sintered) and no heat sink........but my GTB is using the Nexus Racing ball bearing high power fan (that helps).

Use the gear chart and calculate your T2...I am just not sure you are talking about foam or rubber tires.

With my T2, I did change my spur from the 116t to a smaller 112t.. This allowed me to fit a 36p on my Novak 13.5, which enabled me to run very thin tire, about 53mm.

I've typically targeted a roll-out around 30mm and then adjust from there based on what your comfortable with.. I ran a 31mm rollout last night and came off the track after 5 minutes at about 130F.. However, I am using the sintered rotor, and a LRP Sphere Comp with SMC 4200's

Thats about what I figured out as well. maybe a little less with a non sintered rotor and a little more with a sintered.

Not trying to be rude. But, with so many people running this motor at nor-cal. Why didn't you just ask Hicks or someone at the track. They will give you a much better answer.

I just started BL 13.5 on my T2 and went up 2 teeth (64 pitch). You mean to go up 6 more , seems like alot. Just that was enough to cause thermal shutdown on a stock rotor at 181. Now have sintered rotor and working up on pinions. currently reaching 110 degrees. I'll see this weekend where I end up.

With 112/34t pinion the FDR=7.00
112/36t pinion FRD=6.61
I should be good?

Anyways I will be trying all these by the weekend and see what's best!

I really don't get this "4-6 pinions higher" I tried that and the motor was simply too hot!

I gear a CO27 Stocker on my FK05 at 20/87

The SS13.5 I have settled at 19/87

That's one pinion LOWER
