Yeah, the short SDW front arms give too much steering for oneway(rubber on carpet),I have the standard HD arms back on the car, just a little grinding, maybe 0.5mm will do.

Forgot to say, you will need the old style arm mounts for standard HD arms.

well well, just a little grinding made 'em fit. Hope i can use some other bodies than Parma Alfa to get it around the track now

What driveshafts am i best running on my SDW? Ti racing ones or the hardened yokomo belt drive ones? Dont want to run the ones that come with it.

I think the Ti Racing ones are the best option, iv never seen any break.

The Rayspeed Ti. ones are great for the rear.
For the front I keep the Steel ones with the lightened axels becasue the amont of abuse I put on the front end with a one way.

Hmm, what have'nt i tried you better ask.. I have struggled with a bit oversteer ever since i got it, on some tracks i did'nt notice it as much though and it was fast and concistent.
The car is MUCH faster than CGM or SSG even for me for some laps, but because of the extreme steering it has been a little twitchy on carpet and rubber and in 5 minutes i always hit some curbs, that was a seldom with the CGM..
I tried it with foam though and it was awsome!
It will be real fun to try it with the longer arms

yep, i had the same steering problems with the SDW, way to much. easy fix though, i just put some crappy tires up front, and it was dailed. kit set up. lol

Ok the gear boxes have had a few runs now and are turning nice and free and after a bit of experimenting I notice....

For the sake of having a bit of free play (as near as I can tell 3mm worth at the spur) I get consistently a 45 second spin time.

Now if I move just one shim on the diff that free play almost goes completely to the point of being barely detectable (should make for better pick up right) but the spin time is consistently 40 seconds and makes a "god aweful" (comparatively speaking) noise you'd think the gearbox is going to strip itself.

So the question is sloppy and quiet or noisey and better pickup?

i'm not sure, but the diff is suppose to have one shim on each side, if you remove a shim from one side i think your suppose to put it on the other side. this may help,

and how are you getting this spin time, or how are you spinning the diff.

at the moment and for the sake of the run in I have/had 3 shims on the one side because when shimmed as per instructions the diff literally wouldn't move.

But now the shimming situation I mentioned is moving one of the 3 so that I have 2 on one side and one on the other.

As for the spinning that's spinning one tire as hard as I can and 9 out of 10 times I've had the wheels stop at the 45 second mark as mentioned and trying the 2/1 shimming option it's consistently 5 seconds less.

Will try it now with just the diff and its input shaft.....5 seconds with current shimming 2 seconds with the 2/1 option.
