A flat chassis car is OK for real experts that don't wallop curbs.

For the likes of me and a million other RC enthusiasts the CGM is the safest bet. In the hands of Masami the SDW will be a bit quicker, but with all respect, I doubt whether you or I would be able to appreciate the difference. Having said that, the SDW is a lovely looking car, even just to keep on the shelf and look at.

Proof of what I am saying came again last week. My son drove my CGM for the very first time last Sunday and was immediately doing the same lap times he does with his TC3 with which he has won 4 National championships and looks well on his way to a fifth. And those lap times are well over a second a lap quicker than I have ever done.

Incidentally, he also reckons the CGM is quicker round the corners and easier to drive, than his TC3 - and his TC3 is ballistic!

cool...i got a ssg and was thinkin about buying the conversion to make it the tub chassis (local track has carpet and asphalt) but if its really about the regidity (for high bite) i could just make something or stack another upper on it to make stronger. BTW stormerhobbies.com has the worlds edition in stock

I already do! I'm going to practice and properly set up my car tomorrow.

Oh, and I just bought a new assembled 3600HV battery from Trinity. I went to charge it but it only takes about 1000mah charge, then the charger switches off. I'm using a Millenium Pro. What should I do?

your charger is false peaking.
either that or you have a poor power supply(which i don't think is the case)
Anyway, just charge it again. It's normal for the pack to false peak when it's been stored for a long time.

I didn't really explain it fully. When it finishes charging at 1000mah it's fairly warm, like it's fully charged. When I restart the charge it will charge until it reaches 300-400mah and does it again, this time hotter than when it stopped the last time.

I can also charge all other batteries successfully

that would mean you're pack arrived partially charged already.
give it a discahrge or drive it on the car. finish the pack and try charging it back up.
it should be right then,

The first time this problem occured, I thought so too, so I did discharge it on a 20A bulb discharger. It only lasted about 3-4 minutes.

if your pack is side x side i'd check each cell's voltage. there could be a dead cell in it.

OK, I can't really check the voltage of each cell, so i'm discharging the pack again to 5.4 volts. The lights on the charger are very bright so I think all 6 cells are functioning.

Do you have voltmeter ? you'll be screamin to know if one of the 6 cells is almost dead. Almost dead cell usually shows low voltage reading.

I dont have a voltmeter, but i'll see if i can borrow one from someone tomorrow. I dont think there is a dead cell, because when I discharge them all the cells get equally hot (measured by touch) and the lights on the discharger are just as bright as any other of my packs. I don't really know what the problem is.

maybe all it needs are a few cycles to get back in shape..
as a rule i try to avoid trinity consumables and sanyo batteries

the CGM tub chassis is stiffer than any of the other SD chassis, the flat graphite ones flex a bit more giving the car more traction. If I had only one type to get to race on multiple surfaces it would be the CGM. If you can afford two cars then the flat graphite chassis are probably slightly better on low traction tracks due to the flex.
