Default expert soldering

hi my soldering isnt the best infact no where near. am i losing any power eg brush to comm power.most of the fast guys at my club have neat soldering and its also strong. my soldering has never come off or anything but its not good.thanks stephen iam using an mrt 40 w iron schumacher solder and much more speed cleaner 2 to clean the surface.

Soldering brushes is hard because the solder wants to wick up the braided wire. Use a hotter iron. You will get better over time. I have an 80W Weller stained glass iron that works well.

i use a heat sink on the brush braid to just add solder. then tin the brush hood.
the heat sink i use is similar to the red handle one on the right side of the page.

Here is my tips :

Buy 60watts or 100watts high quality solder eg. Goot brand
Buy 60/40 solder wire
Buy Lofett / solder grease
Use very damp clothes to wipe off the tip frequently.
