August ,1979 - A Leisure 1/12th car (used - one time) with Futaba brown box radio and Leisure digital battery charger. It had a electronic speedcontroller which I shorted out the first ime I drove it in the street- one little puddle and I hit it.
Fist race in September came in 1st in the D main and broke the chassis- complements of the second place driver.
I've only got the rear wing from the first body I painted Datsun 240Z. By the way it moved- attached to the sevro for extra braking in the corners. Took it off after the first race too much braking.6 months later went to a big race and some one else had done the same thing.I laughed because it looked silly and I did the same thing when I tried it.

(Nikko Turbo Panther :-) it was a nice buggy.)

But my first real rc car was a marui big bear, it was a monster truck with really big tires. So big that the steering system couldnt handle it.
I had a lot of fun with this car, i raced against some guys with a blackfoot and a midnight pumpking. Those were the days.

Oh i remember the TQ10. My firs car was a really bad rig job between a TQ10, a RC10, and a jrx2. But it went around the track faster than i could go at the time. I was only six and i kept bugging my old man for a car and he built me one out of spare parts

My first was a Heathkit Spectre 1/8th gas car with a Veco .19 engine, I got it at a garage sale for $20 back in 1975.

Anyone here old enough to remember Heathkit?

Thumbs up

Tamiya Sand Scorcher-

..Sealed radio box, scale VW Baja Beetle body, scale VW suspension.. and paddle tires!!! With a stock 540, it would throw A 2 foot high roost!!

The car was way ahead of its time for off-roaders in 1982.

I'm getting a few if it ever gets re-released!
