Default need some recommendations on TC please :)

hi all,

i'm thinking about getting into 19 turn touring car this winter. i'm not looking for the latest greatest 'cause i'm a broke student what i'm after is a used tc that isn't super twitchy or setup sensitive. something relatively easy to drive and not too expensive to maintain. i've been racing offroad for many years (18 of 'em!) but i've never given onroad a try. sooooo, if nayone has any suggestions for me, i would greatly appreciate them! also, getting parts would be a consideration too (ae, losi, xray are fairly easy to get around here). thanks!!!!

If xray is avalable then get a T2R. The T2R is a great car it comes with all of the features of the T2 at a lower cost.

That works, but you should also look at the Tamiya TT05 and the MRC Acadamy PRO. Lot's of bang for the buck on those two. Both of them perform much better than the low cost for them. Have fun.

Xray parts are in healthy supply in Canada.

For a new kit, definitely check out the T2R.

There are also amazing deals to be had on used T2 and FK05 chassis on this and other forums.

Get a used Losi XXXS G+ for less then $100 with parts.....I have one, run on carpet w/foams....still as fast as the current models like Xray, HPI or others. Look it up on ebay and Rctech.....parts still be able to get from most hobby shop.

If you need to look at some current car....then a used HPI Pro 4 might work, oh, not to mention, the good old TC3 or TC4 from Assoicate. Then, Schumacher, like mine....M12EC, top notch racing machine....a used one can be around $150-200...depends on what chassis.

Xray is definitely a good car, just make sure your LHS has stock on them.

Go with the X-Ray T2R. You get the most bang for your buck... and it's a great car.

wow, thanks for all the fast replies guys! i was kind of leaning towards a tc3 or xxx-s just because i know both (especially assocaited) manufacturers parts a long time after a model has been superceded. there have been a couple of recommendations for the xray t2...what does it do better than the ae or losi? my biggest concern is driveability, second is cost and parts availability, third is factory support. thanks again!

There are many used Tamiya 415MSX'x available , these are great cars, and can be picked up for 200.00

Used T2 or new T2R if parts availability is decent. These two are on their way up while others mentioned in this thread are on their way out.

The T2 or T2R are very well built. Easy to drive and fast cars. Parts fit well, and very durable. They don't go out of tweak like other cars. Xray makes great cars. If parts are easy to get, go Xray. Easy to tune. You'll be kickin' but in no time. With other cars you'll spend more time adjusting your car than anything. My 2 cents worth, good luck.

Stick with Xray. Weather it be the FK04, FK05 or T2. The cars are bullit proof to.
Still have an FK04 Factory Team thats maybe only 3-4/10ths slower then my new car T2'007 around a standard size in-door track with 27t. They don't tweak easy and there should be plenty about.
