How hot is too hot
Ive heard alot of people talking about putting computer fans on their cars to cool the motor..
My question is how do you know if your running the motor too hot? Will you loose power or ??
Electric is very new to me.. Ive been running nitro for quite some time..

@ the end of the race if you can put your hand directly on your motor for 3 seconds without getting burned your motor is fine. If you cant touch it then its overgeared. Yes it loses power and cooks your brushes + damages the magnets

I think the man wants a number in degrees. I'm curious myself. He probably has a thermometer for his nitro engines, so he can check the temp easily. Anyone else every try putting a thermometer on an electric and what the temp of "too hot" would be?

Thanks alot -CriMinaL- . That was exactly what I was wanting.
Leon. I never thought of using my temp gun for that. I'll have to give that a try.

Check your brushes after one or two runs, if they change coler (like blue/purple) then your motor gets to hot.
PS if the brushes seem to have this color at the top please replace them as you have burnt up some carbon wich is in the cupper to reduce friction.
If you keep running these you will distroy your motor.
This is how i look if my motor gets to hot or not.
Greatz Whacky.
