yeah that is true, but the esc is so tunable that you could get every last millisecond of motor run to be exactly how you want it. plus i mean you never know when your gonna want to run about 100..... i mean id like to take my car that fast.

I have both the Mamba Max 5700 & 7700. I haven't been able to see the difference in speed, yet, as I don't have enough room to test both of them out. All I can say is that I think they are awesome. I had a SS5800 w/ SS upgrade kit and also a 5.5R. I think the Mamba Max is much smoother and the adjustability you get for the price is just way worth every penny. In fact, if it was priced a little higher than the Novaks, I would still buy the Mamba Max. I drove my friends car with the LRP Sphere & Reedy Neo motor and I must say the LRP works pretty good and seems smoother than the Novaks, but the Mamba feels pretty close or better. The other reason I prefer the Mamba Max is that there isn't really an ideal gearing that you have to use like the Novak and LRP.

There is only one thing you guys have got to remember the mamba max is a quailty piece of equipment where the Novak is nothing but a piece of SHIT

How many Lipo cells do you run using the mamba max 7700 on a tc does 2s mean 2 cells or a connection like 2 series and 6 cells total? Sorry getting back into the hobby and Lipos are a new concept!

You can run a three cell lipo, meaning 11.1V pack on the mamba max. It what motor you can use it with. The 7700 is for two cell only meaning 7.4V. The 5700 with three cell pack is faster than a 7700 with two cells.

But if your really looking for managable speeds get the 7700 with either a six cell NiMh pack or a two cell lipo. You will be challanged enough with that if you haven't been back in RC too long...........It screams.
Also if you are running 2wd buggy or stadium truck you might want to get the 5700, there have been lots off peeps saying that the 7700 is too much power and just smokes sets of tires every run.
Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks Mr. Shookie! So 2 cells only in a tc would make it a lot lighter also?

Anything Lipo is going to be much lighter than the 6 sud C's...
But yea in a TC two cells is all you'll need with a 7700. If you can control all the power it puts out consistantly you will win every race you enter...

Talking

I ran my Mamba Max 7700 last Sunday in my T2 and it is very smooth and very fast. Easy to drive and setup. No thermalling, motor only got to 180 degrees. I also have the 4600 motor which I bought for 19t but I think it's alittle bit faster than a 19t. So far I really like it as this is my first Brushless system. I have tried the Novak 5800 but I like the Mamba's adjustability.

Going to run it again tomorrow

Yes it will run brushed motors. If you want it even faster you can still throw a hacker motor that has even more power. That's the thing about the Mamba. It will run any sensorless motor and there are alot to choose from.

Yes in my Xray T2. Well it was quicker than the guys running 8 turns. Motor and ESC temps were good....nothing higher than 180 degrees. There is a guy running the LRP sphere and 4 star and we are pretty even in speed. I may have been overgeared just abit because I wasn't quite topping out on the straight. But overall I really liked it. I put the drag brake to 30% to give it more of a brushed feeling and dropped the timing to low...but this time out I'm going to try the lowest timing setting.
