New motor/speedo.
Hey, ive been racing for about 5 years now. Started when I was really young im 14 now. (15 next week)
At christmas im getting a Xray T2R, because I cant really afford the T2 :P
Im looking to get a new motor and speedo, but these are my choices.
Brushless 4.5 system but I would have to run this currently on my batteries :
3300,3600,3600,3600,3700 although I should be getting a few new ones (4200)
I could get a 19 turn, fast'ish motor that doesnt kill brushs to quick and will run fine on my batteries.
Or I could get a 12*1, from my friend which he only ran about 3 times before he got his brushless, which I could have cheap. Although this 12*1 KR brushless, eats brushs like every week.
I want a fast motor, that doesnt use brushs that often and maybe wants a skim and some new brushs every month? Thanks for any opinions.
Regards,
Clarky

The Checkpoint "Money" 19T motor would be as low maintenance as any brushed motor you could find I'd say...as far as brushes and comm cuts. The Kr's run great, but to run at their max potential they really need a comm skim every 3-4 runs IMO.
As far as speedos there are many options out there. I am a big Tekin fan and would recommend anything they have to offer. Their 10th scale brushless systems are not out yet, but will be soon. They will be able to run brushed and brushless motors. (The R1 and R1 Pro) Just a matter of what your budget allows really.

For the third time clarky i have told you which motor to get!
And its at a discount for like £33 quid.
Orion V2 12x1 it will be easy on brushes. Well as easy as modified motors are on brushes.
Your not going to get a better answer than that. :P Buy it!

Get a brushless, they are cheaper in the long run, and dont need any extra stuff like lathes, new brushes and the performance is awesome. see if you can get a lipo batt aswell

Lipo and Brushless all the way. Thats what i did. However, he does not have the cash to stump up in the first place. Hes managed to get a brand new 12x1 Orion V2 and a mint condition QC2 for £60 so its not bad
