PVC piping - slow, very low grip. Easy to get but unrealistic and poor control.
ABS piping - the "tire" of choice. soft enough for decent speed, lots of control an acceptable rate of wear. Semi realistic handling, good drifts and ability to link almost any type of course with the right power.
Yokomo drift ring-type tires - expensive but fairly realistic driving experience. Nice drifts, not as long as ABS and harder to link. Wear out very quickly and require ring replacements. TOo slippery on smooth concrete surfaces but perfect on asphalt or most racing track surfaces. Use the single ring type only..
Hard rubber drift "Radials" - quite gripping and very realistic. TOo much grip for most surfaces for linked type drifts. Requires powerful motor (19turns or lower!) but rewards realistic driving techniques such as the flick, e-brake, trail braking etc...
Great rate of wear and very high speeds availalbe. Best for nitro cars.
By far the best are the ABS type tires..
